WHO AM I?
Hello, Internet friends!
It's been a minute.
My name is Arushi - I'm a denizen of the style blogosphere and a creature of desire. This blog is an endeavor to chronicle my seemingly never-ending sartorial pursuits.
I live, work, and play in New York. I am a transplant from the other side of the world. I was raised in New Delhi, India - another tempestuous, zany, maddening, and hectic city.
I attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and initially forayed into the world of style blogging as a wee 15 year old. Once I got to college though, work, school, and all those other pesky responsibilities ensured taking photos of my shoes (and the sagas that accompanied them) took a backseat. But I've desperately missed having a creative outlet so I'm back!
My style sensibility is most closely informed and inspired by the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Anna Karina, and Françoise Hardy, in addition to modern day mavens like Christine Centenera and Kate Bosworth. A clean, minimalist approach to insouciant glamour is the sweet spot but continues to be a work in progress.
I think fashion has the incomparable ability to be wholly transformative and be indicative of the zeitgeist and that's why I never tire of it. As Vanessa Friedman puts it - "Why does fashion matter? Because the world is not run by naked people." Plus, it's fun.
IRL, I work in digital marketing and spend even more time scouring digital platforms in the pursuit of all things beautiful and inspiring. In my college career, I've had the opportunity to intern and freelance at a number of seriously killer companies, including Oscar de la Renta, L2 Inc., Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, AOL, Nanette Lepore, Lulu Frost, Craft Atlantic, and others. I enjoy live music, coffee shop hopping, and taking in all this invigorating, magnetic city has to offer. I hope to use this blog to cover the whole gamut of my interests - from fashion, expression, and style to art, music, and culture, and the intersections of these.
Follow along on my journey and I hope you enjoy my little space on the interwebs!
